Police Trainee
Police Trainee : $32.84 per hour, while attending the academy
After Graduation: $33.82 per hour, $70,345 annual salary

Lateral Certified Police Officer
Starting salary is based on experience and may range from $73,103 ($35.14 per hour) to $95,692 (46.00 per hour)

Public Safety Dispatcher
Public Safety Dispatcher – $22.25 – $28.41 hourly
Senior Public Safety Dispatcher – $25.80 – 32.95 hourly
The Public Safety Dispatcher is considered the first, first responder of the emergency response team. These professionals, are required to gather essential information from citizens, and take control of situations that may be chaotic, tragic, stressful, confusing, and frantic in order to dispatch the appropriate first responders to the scene. Public Safety Dispatchers must be organized, adept at multi-tasking, level-headed, calm and trustworthy. Their work within the emergency response system often places them at the front end of life or death situations. Training requirements for these positions are demanding, rigorous and steadfast.
New employees will be required to successfully complete a classroom training academy and extensive on-the-job training. Career advancement opportunities include promotion to Senior Public Safety Dispatcher, Certified Training Officer, Training Supervisor, and Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor.
Qualifications
High School graduate or G.E.D. and no felony convictions.
Special Requirements:
Emergency Medical Dispatch certification and CPR certification, provided by Lincoln Police Department, is required prior to the completion of the probationary period. Certification on the National Crime Information Center computer system, which is provided by Lincoln Police Department.

Hours: Full time, variable 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts with rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends and holidays.
Emergency Communications Technology Specialist
$33.03 – $42.17 hourly
Key duties include:
* Design, develop and maintain emergency communications systems and applications
* System analysis, user support and oversight of programming and development activities.
Qualifications
Associate degree with major coursework in computer science, computer information technology, or related field and two years of experience in systems development and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Special Requirement: Candidates must meet minimum telecommunicator training standards for the state of Nebraska.
Possession of an Emergency Number Professional (ENP) certification from the National Emergency Number Association within one (1) year of employment.
